This is going to be my final post on this blog.  As you can see, I haven’t posted in a month and a half.  After a lot of thought, I have come to the realization that this blog has run its course in my life.  I started in 2008 as a way to get my thoughts out into the world.  It brought me a lot of joy for a long time.  Things are much different in my life now.  I have settled into a new job that I can see myself at for a very long time.  I can’t even begin to describe how that feels.  I have been taking voice lessons since August in preparation for a cabaret show next month.  And I’ll be turning 30 in 36 days.  It’s amazing that I am not nearly as scared about that like I was this past April.

I am so thankful for all of my readers! Your comments and messages really enabled me to continue with this blog.  I wish you all the best in 2012!!! I had a great time and a great run as Daddycatcher!

Daddycatcher’s MUSICAL MONDAY: Vanessa Williams – “Ah, But Underneath” from FOLLIES and SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM

Posted in Musical Mondays on November 7, 2011 by Daddycatcher

So technically Follies month is over, but “Ah, But Underneath” was a number that was written for the London production in the place of “The Story of Lucy and Jessie.” It has been used in several productions but never in a Broadway production of the show.

However, the song was featured in the 2010 Broadway revue Sondheim on Sondheim sung by the amazing Vanessa Williams.
