Daddycatcher’s MUSICAL MONDAY: Vanessa Williams – “Ah, But Underneath” from FOLLIES and SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM

So technically Follies month is over, but “Ah, But Underneath” was a number that was written for the London production in the place of “The Story of Lucy and Jessie.” It has been used in several productions but never in a Broadway production of the show.

However, the song was featured in the 2010 Broadway revue Sondheim on Sondheim sung by the amazing Vanessa Williams.

Daddycatcher is dedicating the month of October to the musical, Follies. For the next 5 Mondays, Daddycatcher will be featuring different interpretations of songs from the classic musical about a reunion of former showgirls.  Follies is currently being given a first-rate revival on Broadway.
