Summer Obsession – MAD MEN

Posted in Television on July 31, 2011 by Daddycatcher

Netflix found a way to appease Daddycatcher’s anger towards them for their ridiculous price hike – releasing all the current seasons of Mad Men for online streaming!

It’s Daddycatcher’s new summer obsession!  However, he can only do a couple of hours at a time.  It’s a great show but those are some sad, depressing (albeit well-dressed) characters.

And the combined sexiness of John Slattery and Jon Hamm is just too much for this boy to take!

Dear Anderson,

Please wear a helmet while you are biking around New York City.  Daddycatcher would be devastated if anything ever happened to you or your gorgeous silver hair.

That being said, can’t wait for your new talk show – Anderson – premiering next month!

All the best,

All Hail, Charlize Theron

Daddycatcher’s MUSICAL MONDAY: Excerpts from DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY

Posted in Musical Mondays on July 25, 2011 by Daddycatcher

Today, we check out excerpts from the new off-Broadway musical, Death Takes a Holiday.  The musical is written by Peter Stone and Thomas Meehan, with music by Maury Yeston – who also composed the music for Daddycatcher’s favorite musical of all-time, Nine.

Daddycatcher has already seen the musical twice and has found it incredibly enchanting and romantic.  The cast is incredibly strong including Rebecca Luker, Michael Siberry, Jill Paice and the devastatingly handsome Julian Ovenden as Death.

Check it out before it closes on September 4, 2011.

First Same-Sex Marriage Official in NYC

Posted in Gay Rights on July 24, 2011 by Daddycatcher

Phyllis Siegal, 76, and Connie Kopelov, 84, were the first same-sex couple to marry in New York City today!

They have been together for 23 years. This is truly a momentous day in the fight towards full equality for the LGBT community. Congratulations to all LGBT couples getting married today!

But as we celebrate let us also remember this is only the beginning. We still need to fight for equality on a federal level and in the rest of the 44 states.
