World of Color – Recording Session

Posted in Daddycatcher's Disney Obsession on January 31, 2010 by Daddycatcher

As you all know, Daddycatcher grew up as a Disney kid. Disney movies, Disney coloring books, Disneyland. So it’s no surprise that he was so excited about his trip this past fall to Walt Disney World.

His plan in 2010 is to try to make a quick trip to California to visit his brother, grandmothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and the Disneyland Resort.  Unlike Disney World, Daddycatcher has been to Disneyland at least 15-20 times in his life. The main reason to head to Disneyland for Daddycatcher: the World of Color show at Disney’s California Adventure.

Disney’s California Adventure opened in 2001 and joined Disneyland to create the Disneyland Resort. The park received mixed to negative reviews. Daddycatcher wasn’t too thrilled with the park when he visited it for the first time in 2005. However, the Disney Company has been working on sprucing up the park and the new spectacle is the park’s answer to the other nighttime shows that populate other Disney parks.

The video below is the recording session of the musical score that will accompany the show, which will include huge water screens and lots of pyrotechnic displays. And will no doubt join the other soundtracks of Disney park shows that Daddycatcher owns!

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Show Art

Is it possible to want to see a show based on the poster alone?

Because if it is, then Daddycatcher really wants to go see the Broadway revival of Lend Me a Tenor.

A Busy Daddycatcher

Posted in NY Theatre on January 28, 2010 by Daddycatcher

Hello all!

Daddycatcher has been incredibly busy right now!  So it’s been hard to keep up regular postings, but he’s had a very good reason.

Yes, work has indeed kept Daddycatcher very, very busy!

In fact, today he escorted the amazing Tony-winning Donna Murphy to a radio interview at Sirius XM, to be run throughout the weekend.  So check out Broadway Names with Julie James on Saturday night at 8pm ET and Sunday afternoon 12pm ET.

Also, if anyone is interested and has the $$$$, buy tickets, get dressed up and come see the likes of Bernadette Peters, Audra McDonald, Cheyenne Jackson, Victor Garber and Catherine Zeta-Jones honor the amazing Angela Lansbury.

And there will be pictures…the Big Man will be on picture duty!

Daddycatcher’s MUSICAL MONDAY: “I Know Him So Well” – John Barrowman & Daniel Boys

Posted in Musical Mondays on January 25, 2010 by Daddycatcher

Daddycatcher was at Musical Mondays proper last week and saw this clip for the first time.  It does seem to fit better with two men singing it, doesn’t it?

For those that don’t know the song, it is from the musical Chess.

Julie White in Red

The lovely Julie White looks incredibly dazzling in red at the opening night of Present Laughter on Broadway.

And it looks like she is having some fun with Mario Cantone!

Daddycatcher is suffering through serious The Understudy withdrawals.  He misses the play.  He doesn’t miss the patrons!
