Baz Luhrmann directing WICKED!?!

From time to time, Daddycatcher visits the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) to get quotes from films or to see any development on future productions. Today, as he was looking up credits for Australia, he noticed that Baz Luhrmann’s name was attached to the upcoming film production of the Broadway musical, Wicked.

Two of Daddycatcher’s favorite films are Strictly Ballroom and Moulin Rouge. The idea of a Baz Luhrmann directed Wicked is quite appealing. A Luhrmann film is quite dazzling and full of action. Wicked could lend itself well to Luhrmann’s vision. Daddycatcher wonders what a Baz Luhrmann Nine would look like?

Casting is still up in the air. Would Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenowith may able to recreate their roles on screen? Do they read too old for the big screen?

Most importantly, will Daddycatcher be able to see Joey McIntyre recreate the role of Fiyero, the love interest of both women!?! Joey was a replacement after original cast member, Norbert Leo Butz, left the show.
