Daddycatcher’s MUSICAL MONDAY: Michael Crawford & Sarah Brightman in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

Daddycatcher was out having drinks with some friends and the topic of favorite musicals came up.  After much discussion, Daddycatcher wondered what his favorite musicals of all time were…and he figured them out!

So for the next ten weeks (yay!), you’ll get to know Daddycatcher’s Top 10 Favorite Musicals, beginning with the first Broadway show he ever saw – at #10 is The Phantom of the Opera.

Daddycatcher visited New York City for the first time in 1997 as part of the National Youth Choir that performed in Carnegie Hall.  Phantom was the first Broadway show that was scheduled on the trip.  It was mesmerizing. Daddycatcher’s mother, also a first time visitor to New York, was a chaperone on the trip  and fell in love with the show.  It holds a special place in Daddycatcher’s heart despite the awful film version from 2004.

Hi! I’m writing from Santiago de Chile. I was searching for some pages about cinema daddies (I love Gerard Butler) and I find out your website which is really interesting. I also like musicals and all about gay subjects. I work as a volunteer in Acciongay, a chilean institution for the gay men rights and health. Regards.
