Daddycatcher’s MUSICAL MONDAY: Ruthie Henshall in CHICAGO

One of Daddycatcher’s favorite musical theatre divas – Ruthie Henshall – is making a return visit to Broadway reprising her Olivier Award nominated performance of Roxie Hart in Chicago.  Henshall was in the original London company of the hit revival opposite the Velma Kelly of Ute Lemper.

The last Roxie that Daddycatcher saw on Broadway was Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.  This will wipe away those awful memories.  Daddycatcher has always wanted to see Ruthie Henshall in this role!

Incidentally, Henshall appeared in the Broadway production of Chicago in 1999 (and in the West End in 2003) as Velma.  Daddycatcher remembers taping this performance below from the Today Show and learning the choreography.  You know, like every other respectable show queen did.

  1. I would love to see this. I absolutely ADORE Ruthie Henshall. I own the “Putting it Together” she did with John Barrowman ((sigh)) and Carol Burnett. I put it on whenever I need a lift in spirits.
    Thanks for posting this.
